Theriault's to Auction Candy Spelling's Collection

Photograph of Theriault's November 19-20, 2011 Auction Announcement

A mailed notice from Theriault's regarding the upcoming auction of Candy Spelling's Collection reads:

When Aaron and Candy Spelling built their famed 125 room 56,500 square foot French-style chateau in the Holmsby Hills area of Los Angeles in 1988, it was aptly decorated with the finest collections of European antiques, furnishings, chandeliers, and wonderful objects from the world of dolls, automata and childhood. This year, the splendid Spelling chateau was sold, and now, on Saturday and Sunday, November 19 and 20, their magnificent collection of dolls and automata will come to auction in the splendid Louis XVI rooms at the historic Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in New York.
In addition to Spelling's dolls and automata, this two-day auction will feature dolls from other private estates including Jeanne Dailey of Milford Center, Ohio, the Käthe Kruse dolls of a private collector from the Netherlands, and two private collections of rare Lenci dolls.

Read more about these two separate auctions (Many Wonderful Things and To the Manor Born) and view some of the dolls from these impressive collections here.

View the 13-page online listings for Many Wonderful Things here and To the Manor Born (Spelling's Madame Alexander dolls) here.

Ebates.com First, Then Zulily.com

A new doll-friend reminded me that Zulily.com is an Ebates.com affiliate. If you are registered with both sites and plan to make a purchase from Zulily.com, link to Zulily.com through Ebates.com (go to Ebates.com first, search for Zulily.com to get the link to their site) in order to receive the current 3.5% cash back on your Zulily.com purchase. Every penny saved counts toward... what? More dolls, of course!

Thanks Rebecca for jogging my memory on this!

Note that many, many other online retailers are affiliated with Ebates.com and offer varying cash back percentages.  Before completing any online purchases, if you are registered with Ebates.com, go there first to see if the merchant is an Ebates.com affiliate.  If they are, link to their site from Ebates.com before completing your purchase.

Happy shopping, happy saving, and happy cash back-earning!
